Many people confuse staff abuse reports and ban/mute appeals yet there is an extremely big difference.
In a ban appeal, the goal is the be unbanned and the staff member is not punished nor demoted. The appeal could be made because of a punishment that was incorrect or a punishment that is needed to be lifted such as name changes. These reports are not to have a staff member punished, many people say, "Hah! You were wrong I should get stuff because you banned me!" No, mistakes happen no one is perfect and I am sure that every single staff member has made 1 false ban/mute. As well ban/mute appeal should be made before a staff abuse report to know if you have been falsely punished. If so and you believe the staff should be punished then you may create an abuse thread using the appeal as proof.
Onto Staff Abuse Reports, the goal of an abuse report is to report to higher staff that a staff member has used their powers unfairly such as banning/muting enemies, unbanning friends, or giving extremely long punishments. As I stated before, an abuse report should not be created until an appeal was made (depending on circumstances of course). Staff abuse reports should not be thrown around like off-topic threads as 99% of reports get denied anyway. You may discuss an issue without it being ABUSE. Abuse is a generalized term for staff on ProjectParty and should really be staff wrong-doing reports as if a staff breaks any rule such as cursing and other things. Things like these should be reported as staff are here to set an example and respect all rules.
The point of this thread is to clear up confusion on the difference between abuse reports and ban appeals. In my opinion abuse reports should be much more common and hope that by reading this you understand that abuse reports should be mostly for major wrong-doings of staff. If I missed anything please feel free to comment or pm me.
